Reports in Italy claim the Hammers could seal the deal very soon but there's a catch they've not picked up on

Felipe Anderson is "very close" to sealing a €30m move to West Ham m8bet according to reports in Italy but football.london understands that it's not as close as the Italians might think.

Sky Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a deal is close between Lazio and the Hammers after a successful meeting in the Italian city on Wednesday between representatives of the two clubs.

Anderson is keen to move to the Premier League and to east London to work with new manager Manuel Pellegrini and personal terms are close to being agreed on a deal worth a reported £80,000 a week.

Romano and fellow Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio have both claimed that Anderson is on the verge of signing for the Hammers for the fee plus 20% of future sell-on transfer fees as well.

The reports also claim that Lazio sporting director Igil Tare is flying in to London on Thursday to meet with Hammers co-owner David Sullivan to get a deal across the line.

Here is where a problem might lie - Sullivan isn't currently in the country.

The Hammers co-owner is on a break in Spain after a busy time of it sorting out a deal to bring Pellegrini to east London and conducting some early transfer window negotiations for the club as the new manager was in Chile and new director of football Mario Husillos was in Spain.

So far as we know, m8bet West Ham are still very much pushing for a deal to get done however in the co-owner's absence, who said after the appointment of Husillos he would be stepping back.

Elsewhere, the Hammers are expected to go back in with an improved bid for Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson after seeing their first effort rebuffed by the Wlesh outfit, while Pellegrini is also close to sealing a deal for Swans goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Polish stopper could be expected to fight for the number one spot with another goalkeeper next season, it's certainly not a definite he will be the number one, be that competing with Adrian or another new stopper who could arrive this summer.

Stoke stipper Jack Butland and Burnley duo Tom Heaton and Nick Pope are supposedly on that list. m8bet
